This development was confirmed by Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin foreign policy aide, who spoke from Kazan. The announcement follows recent discussions between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, where Türkiye’s role as a potential host for these critical talks was reiterated.
The potential for a direct meeting between President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains uncertain, particularly in light of recent Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory. These incidents have not aided the prospects of direct dialogue, according to Ushakov.
