President Donald Trump has announced what he calls a “historic” agreement aimed at the complete disarmament of Hamas, marking a potential significant step toward resolving the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The announcement was made via social media, but as of now, neither the Israeli government nor Hamas has provided official confirmation of the deal.
According to Trump, the proposed plan involves Hamas gradually dismantling its military capabilities, destroying its tunnel networks, and surrendering heavy weaponry under international supervision. In exchange, Israeli forces would gradually withdraw from Gaza, while an international stabilization force and a new Palestinian security administration would assume responsibility for maintaining order in the region.
The proposed roadmap also includes a ceasefire before the disarmament process initiates. Subsequently, heavy weapons, tunnels, and military infrastructure would be dismantled under the watch of an international verification committee.
