Saudi Arabia and South Korea have solidified their intention to enhance collaboration in the realms of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and technology investment through a series of high-level discussions held in Seoul. The meetings underscored both nations’ dedication to fostering innovation and strengthening their digital economies.
Leading the Saudi delegation, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha, along with Communications, Space and Technology Commission Governor Haytham Al-Ohali, engaged with senior South Korean officials to explore partnerships in AI, semiconductors, and digital infrastructure. These discussions aimed to bolster Saudi Arabia’s aspiration to emerge as a global leader in artificial intelligence.
The talks also focused on advancing digital government services, with both countries examining potential cooperation in unified government platforms and digital identity systems. The use of AI to enhance public services was a key point of interest, fostering dialogue between Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior.
Additionally, Al-Swaha met with the founder and CEO of APL Ventures to explore investment prospects, providing support for Saudi startups and discussing strategies to broaden their international reach. These discussions are aligned with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to attract high-value investments and fast-track the development of an AI-driven digital economy.
